Dr. Thomas Burk
Dr. Thomas Burk graduated from medical school at the University of Tennessee. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, where he was awarded Resident of the Year. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He was awarded the Anthony S. Ficalora Award for "Unusual Sensitivity and Respect for Patients" by the University of Tennessee.
Prior to pursuing his medical degree, he received his B.A. in Sociology from Shippensburg University. He was employed at Cumberland Hall Psychiatric Hospital as well as being the Program Director for group home that provided care for adults and children with disabilities in that area.
After medical school and residency, his experience included working with Campbell & Philbin Medical Associates in Pittsburgh, the Altoona Center, a state residential facility for adults with disabilities, and Mainline Medical Associates in Altoona. He has also devoted time to volunteering at a free clinic operated by UPMC Altoona Hospital during this time.
Dr. Burk has an outstanding reputation among his patients as demonstrated by his consistently high patient satisfaction ratings. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Bonnie, and has two grown children, Olivia and Andrew.
